What is coaching?
Because my background is rooted in intuitive eating, I have a particular focus on what I call Intuitive Eating Coaching, whereby I help clients re-adopt a natural way of eating what they want, when they want it, when they're hungry. And stop when they're satisfied. I say "re-adopt" because I believe, as do the co-authors of Intuitive Eating, that we are born as intuitive eaters and can return to that way of eating (assuming we've become entangled in restrictive eating/poor body image/emotional eating) with a little help.
More generally, coaching is the process by which coaches meet clients where they are, and help them get to where they want to be. In my practice, this often means meeting clients in a very disordered, restrictive, or emotional way of eating, and helping them paint a picture of where they want to go (i.e., to be free from dieting and body image woes). I hold my clients' hands as they discover how to get there in their own time.
Coaching sessions are conducted on the phone and last 30 minutes or 1 hour.
Group coaching sessions are generally conducted in person and I will post information to this site when a new group forms.
